Pietralupaia
red wine igt costa toscana
The engine of Molino
Pietra Lupaia is the name of the stream whose waters once powered the ancient mill located on the estate, dating back to the 18th century. The name likely derives from the fact that, in the past, wolves were often spotted on the rocks along the stream. Even today, their howls can still be heard in the surrounding woodland and within the estate itself. This wine is composed almost entirely of selected Cabernet Franc grapes, which ripen in the vineyards located near the Pietra Lupaia stream, with a small percentage of Petit Verdot. Deep ruby-red in colour, it offers a broad and complex aromatic profile with notes of red fruit. On the palate it reveals an elegant structure, with herbal notes, red fruit aromas and hints of vanilla.
